Happy Choice Farm

Barnesville, Maryland

This new farmhouse crowns a sunny hilltop in western Montgomery County. Our clients’ goal was to create a home that would appear to have existed in the rural landscape for the past 200 years, and to maintain comfort and simplicity in the design.

This Federal style brick farmhouse has projecting white clapboard additions under a unifying red roof. Use of reclaimed and natural materials like fieldstone, clay brick, lime mortar, clapboard siding, and vintage oak floorboards, yet incorporation of modern geothermal exchange exhibits the sustainability of traditional design.
