Chance, Virginia

Part of a 2,500 acre working farm on Virginia’s Rappahannock River, the original modest Victorian era farmhouse had been in our client’s family since the mid-nineteenth century. Our design for the major renovation and addition substantially enlarged the home’s interior spaces and transformed its character, giving the house a new life as a year-round retreat for three generations of the family and their frequent guests. Multiple porches, balconies, bay windows and a belvedere were added to provide spaces, both private and collective, from which the sweeping landscape and river views could be enjoyed.
